Over six classes, you’ll explore the practical, relational, and psychological foundations of skilled facilitation—from creating a strong container to working with the dynamics that emerge when people come together.
Between-session homework will help you clarify which groups you want to lead, who you’re best equipped to serve, and how you want to lead them. You’ll leave with greater confidence in yourself as a facilitator and a clearer understanding of which groups are right for you to lead.
This is a grounded, experiential training for people who want to move beyond surface-level techniques and one-size-fits-all methods—and create spaces that are both spiritually meaningful and psychologically sound.
WHO THIS EXPERIENCE IS FOR:
Therapists, yoga teachers, coaches, retreat leaders, healers, business owners, creatives, peer support group leaders, and community leaders who:
Already lead groups, workshops, or retreats and want to refine their craft
Want to lead responsibly, with practical skills and a deeper understanding of group dynamics
Have outgrown rigid formulas and want to strengthen their own facilitation style
Want to create meaningful experiences while honoring boundaries, ethics, and participants’ needs
WHAT WE’LL EXPLORE:
Session 1 · Sunday, August 22: Creating the Frame, Part 1
The groundwork that makes meaningful group work possible: intention, agreements, structure, and clear expectations. You’ll explore what needs to be in place to create a strong container before the deeper work begins.
Session 2 · Sunday, August 29: Creating the Frame, Part 2
How to hold that container once the group is in it. We’ll explore what happens when it’s tested and how to support safety and connection without over-controlling or over-sharing.
Session 3 · Sunday, September 5: Group Process and Facilitation Styles
How groups move, develop, and change over time. You’ll explore different facilitation styles, when each one serves the group, and how to recognize and strengthen your own.
Session 4 · Sunday, September 12: Group and Leadership Psychodynamics
What’s happening beneath the surface: power, projection, resistance, dependency, and unspoken group roles. You’ll learn to work with group psychology and use your own awareness, presence, and responses as an agent of change.
Session 5 · Sunday, September 19: Experientials and Practice Facilitating
Put what you’re learning into practice through experiential exercises and real-time facilitation. Receive live feedback in a supportive setting while deepening your ability to use yourself intentionally as a facilitator.
Session 6 · Sunday, September 26: Dos and Don’ts, Liability, Ethics, and More Practice
The responsibilities that come with leading: boundaries, ethics, liability, knowing what isn’t yours to carry, and recognizing when to refer out. We’ll close with more hands-on practice to help you integrate the training into your work.
WHAT YOU’LL WALK AWAY WITH:
Greater confidence and clarity in your facilitation style
A clearer understanding of which groups you want to lead and how you want to lead them
A deeper understanding of group dynamics and psychological safety
Practical tools for increasing participation, connection, and group satisfaction
Stronger boundaries and a clearer sense of your responsibilities and limits
A more grounded relationship to leadership, connected to your own path
HOW WE’LL WORK:
Live teaching, experiential practice, demonstrations, group reflection, and supervised inquiry on Zoom. Between-session homework will help you apply what you’re learning to your own work and clarify your direction as a facilitator.
Come ready to participate, practice, and reflect.
WEEKLY HOMEWORK:
Between sessions, you’ll receive homework to help you put the teachings into practice and clarify which groups you want to lead, who you’re best equipped to serve, and how you want to lead them. These assignments will help you develop your own approach so you leave feeling more confident in yourself as a facilitator and clearer about the groups that are right for you to lead.
