Facilitation Essentials for Transformation - Iowa City - NOVEMBER 1st, 2026
IOWA CITY, IOWA
FACILITATION ESSENTIALS FOR TRANSFORMATIONAL WORK
Sunday, November 1st | 1:00-4:00 PM
Location: exact address coming soon
Early Bird: $125 (ends October 26th) | Regular: $150
Many yoga teachers, therapists, and helping professionals feel the call to move beyond one-on-one work or traditional classes into deeper, more transformational group spaces, but aren’t sure how to lead them.
This immersive 3-hour workshop is designed to give you the foundational skills, confidence, and structure needed to facilitate meaningful group experiences, from workshops and retreats to sacred circles and coaching groups.
Facilitating a group is not the same as teaching a class. It requires the ability to hold emotional complexity, guide connection, navigate group dynamics, and create a space where real transformation can unfold.
Led by Caroline Culverhouse, LCSW, MSS, E-RYT, CGP, CTP, a Certified Group Psychotherapist and retreat leader with nearly two decades of experience, this workshop bridges the worlds of psychological depth and spiritually grounded facilitation.
This is not just a lecture. Expect an interactive, experiential environment with opportunities for discussion, reflection, movement, and small-group practice.
In this workshop, you’ll explore:
The difference between teaching, hosting, and facilitating
How to create psychological safety, trust, and group cohesion
The anatomy of a powerful and well-structured group experience
When to guide, when to step back, and how to work with group energy
Core facilitation skills for managing different personalities and emotional intensity
Practical tools like reflection, mirroring, and inquiry
Common pitfalls—and how to avoid them
You’ll also have the chance to practice facilitation in small groups, gaining real-time experience as both a participant and a leader.
You’ll leave with:
A clear framework for facilitating transformational groups
Practical tools you can immediately apply
Increased confidence in leading workshops, retreats, or circles
Inspiration and clarity for creating your own offerings
Who this is for:
Yoga teachers, therapists, coaches, healers, and anyone feeling called to lead deeper group experiences rooted in connection, growth, and transformation.
Continuing Education credits available for Yoga Alliance Registered Teachers.
